Bruno Gecchelin
(*1939 Milan)
The Italian architect and designer Bruno Gecchelin began his career in 1962 with designs of household appliances, electrical appliances, air conditioning systems, cutlery and heating boilers. At the end of the 1960s, he turned to the illuminated design and worked for Arteluce, Venini, O-Luce, Olivetti, Busnelli and Skipper. Gecchelin's low-voltage lamp “Wing” (1973) for O-Luce became very successful. His “Mezzaluna” model also dates from the same year for skipper, a high -voltage lamp that is now one of the classics of Italian BEL design. A slight modification is the “Mezzaluna T” from 1974, a standing light made of lacquered and chrome -plated metal, which was also made by skipper.
