Simmis stool by La Cube Madrid, 2016 Materials: Iron, Chestnut Dimensions: 45 x 25 x 25 cm Simmis stool has been created with the intention to experiment with geometric shapes, intervening on the form as well as on the texture of the product. The result is a robust and strong figure which allows for the material natural characteristics to stand out. Following the Simmis series and connecting it with the Simmis chair, the central incision was made, which divides the stool, like the chair, into two identical halves, giving lightness in order to balance the figure. Stefano Fusani, Italian artist-designer and Clara Hernández, Spanish cultural and art historian, are the founders of La Cube, an experimental design studio focused on material and theoretical research that addresses the origin of production processes in relation with the human habits of the 21st century. The aim of the studio is to develop different kind of projects situated in the floating and ambiguous space between art and design, analyzing the material culture and making experimental projects with objects, installations and texts aimed to research the relation between those disciplines in current contexts and the cultural constructions with them associated.
Tabouret Simmis de La Cube Madrid, 2016 Matériaux : Fer, Châtaignier Dimensions : 45 x 25 x 25 cm Le tabouret Simmis a été créé avec l'intention d'expérimenter des formes géométriques, en intervenant sur la forme ainsi que sur la texture du produit. Le résultat est une figure robuste et forte qui permet de faire ressortir les caractéristiques naturelles du matériau. En suivant la série Simmis et en la reliant à la chaise Simmis, l'incision centrale a été réalisée, ce qui divise le tabouret, comme la chaise, en deux moitiés identiques, donnant de la légèreté afin d'équilibrer la figure. Stefano Fusani, artiste-designer italien et Clara Hernández, historienne de la culture et de l'art espagnole, sont les fondateurs de La Cube, un studio de design expérimental axé sur la recherche matérielle et théorique qui aborde l'origine des processus de production en relation avec les habitudes humaines du XXIe siècle. L'objectif du studio est de développer différents types de projets situés dans l'espace flottant et ambigu entre l'art et le design, en analysant la culture matérielle et en réalisant des projets expérimentaux avec des objets, des installations et des textes visant à étudier la relation entre ces disciplines dans les contextes actuels et les constructions culturelles qui leur sont associées.
