His artistic training took place at the Accademia Albertina in Turin, where he was a student of such leading figures as Odoardo Tabacchi for sculpture and Luigi Belli for ornamentation and ornamental plastic. Rubino emerged on the international art scene through his participation in the Great International Exhibition of Modern Decorative Art in 1902, establishing himself with works that reflected the Art Nouveau taste of the time. During his career, Rubino collaborated with important families and collectors, including the Agnellis and the Genoese collector Luigi Frugone, and worked on significant projects such as a gigantic Quadriga for the Universal Exhibition in Rome, which remained unfinished due to wartime events. Despite the decrease in his artistic activity after the war, Rubino produced important works such as the Tamed Energy group for the Glorenza hydroelectric power plant in Alto Adige, Italy, and contributed to the decoration of public and private spaces, demonstrating versatility and mastery in various areas of sculptural art.
