Hemlock Leaves (Original Italian title ''Foglie di cicuta'') is an original Contemporary artwork realized in 2018 by the Italian artist Andrea Fogli (Rome, 1959). Original Pastel on paper. Total dimensions: 48 x 40 cm. Signed, titled and dated on the lower margin in pencil by the artist. The artwork is accompanied by the certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. Mint conditions. Hemlock Leaves (Original Italian title ''Foglie di cicuta'') is an excellent drawing on paper. The work belongs to the series Herbarium Planetarium that is a travel diary mapping the natural places, in particular those in which has been sought a new harmony between nature and art, man and cosmos: “Monte Verità” at Ascona; the ''Paradise Plantation'' created by Joseph Beuys in Bolognano, Abruzzo; Todtnauberg, in the Black Forest, close to the hut where Heidegger wrote ''Being and Time”; the “Baruchello Foundation” in the Roman countryside; but also in the artist's garden, in Orto Botanico in Roma, in Parco Sempione in Milan, or in the famous plain of Castelluccio in Norcia or in Andalusia in the surroundings of Cazalla de la Sierra. Sixty drawings of this series have been exhibited in the solo show Effemeridi del Giardino at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Lissone (2019), entirely dedicated to works focused on the theme of nature, from 2002 to 2019. His public solo-exhibitions have been held at Rupertinum-Museum Moderner Kunst, Salzburg (2000), and at Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Bologna (2002), both curated by Peter Weiermair, and at MARTA, Herford (2006) by invitation of Jan Hoet. A large retrospective have been held at Casino dei Principi, Museums of Villa Torlonia, Rome (2013). His works by lui are present in the collections of MART, Trento and Rovereto; MARTA, Herford; MACRO, Rome; Ursula Blickle Stiftung, Kraichtal; Gallery of Modern Art, Bologna; Civic Gallery of Drawing, Modena; Parkview Museum Beijing / Singapore.

L'œuvre appartient à la série Herbarium Planetarium qui est un journal de voyage cartographiant les lieux naturels, en particulier ceux dans lesquels a été recherchée une nouvelle harmonie entre la nature et l'art, l'homme et le cosmos : "Monte Verità à Ascona ; la ''Plantation paradisiaque'' créée par Joseph Beuys à Bolognano, dans les Abruzzes ; Todtnauberg, en Forêt-Noire, près de la cabane où Heidegger a écrit ''L'être et le temps'' ; la "Fondation Baruchello" dans la campagne romaine ; mais aussi dans le jardin de l'artiste, à Orto Botanico à Rome, au Parco Sempione à Milan, ou dans la célèbre plaine de Castelluccio à Norcia ou en Andalousie dans les environs de Cazalla de la Sierra. Soixante dessins de cette série ont été exposés dans l'exposition personnelle Effemeridi del Giardino au Musée d'art contemporain de Lissone (2019), entièrement consacrée à des œuvres centrées sur le thème de la nature, de 2002 à 2019.
