Stunning Large-scale Abstract piece of art by internationally renowned Post-Modernist British artist, Lucy Hunter, entitled ‘Explosion of Summer’ 1988.
This piece features a wide array of vibrant colours from oranges, reds & greens crafted using Lucy Hunter’s synonymous medium, Acrylic, hand touched in a beautifully layered mannered. This piece features its original artistic frame with pieces attached to the canvas in a design-purpose manner; the cuts exhibiting a relation to the painting and being just as much a part of the piece as the Acrylic Paint creation. This piece exhibits everything that one looks for in a Post-modernist Abstract piece from the attention to details, the materials used and most importantly the way in which this piece creates a space for the viewer to hermeneutically reason with its meaning.
Lucy Hunter was & still is a pioneering artist of Post-modernist Abstract Art. Coming from a family of artists Hunter was surrounded by art from her mother & father both being accomplished artists and she followed in their footsteps. Studying Fine Art at the RCA (Royal College of Art) in London she left with her degree and headed to New York were she became a part of the fresh art scene there & becoming enthralled by Globally Iconic artist Basquiat. She left New York in 1986 and spent time in Berlin where she fell in love with Bauhaus and there is a clear pivot in her art from much more clear less hermeneutic work to much more inhibited work as she became more influenced by such greats of Early Post-modernism such as Wassily Kandinsky.
She returned from Berlin in 1996 and it was here that she initially sold this piece at an exhibition held in Kensington where you she grouped her art into 3 ‘years’ of her life all three representative of a different influence; the final being Post-modern Abstract, the work that she is most renowned for. it entered a private collection of which it has remained a part of until now. The only reason such a special piece has come onto the open market is because of the passing of the purchaser and we were lucky enough to purchase this piece at an estate sale in Barcelona, Spain.
This is a very rare opportunity to buy a piece from a world renowned Artist & an expert in Post-Modernist Abstract art. This piece is sold with its original exhibition board & is hand-signed ‘LMH’ by Lucy Hunter. Excellent Condition, this piece has been protected from sun-damage, marking & Dust. Every part of the Acrylic remains immaculate & intact. This piece has belonged to an avid collector of art who has made sure that every possible risk ageing has been averted on this piece coming from a Pet-free, Smoke free & maid kept home. The designed frame is in immaculate condition & features all of the cut pieces, even the smallest as photographed.

Cette œuvre présente un large éventail de couleurs vibrantes (oranges, rouges et verts) réalisées à l'aide du médium synonyme de Lucy Hunter, l'acrylique, touchées à la main d'une manière magnifiquement stratifiée. Lucy Hunter était et est toujours une artiste pionnière de l'art abstrait post-moderniste. Issue d'une famille d'artistes, Hunter a été entourée d'art par sa mère et son père, tous deux artistes accomplis, et elle a suivi leurs traces. Après avoir étudié les beaux-arts au RCA (Royal College of Art) de Londres, elle a obtenu son diplôme et s'est rendue à New York, où elle s'est intégrée à la nouvelle scène artistique et a été fascinée par l'artiste mondialement connu Basquiat. Elle quitte New York en 1986 et passe du temps à Berlin, où elle tombe amoureuse du Bauhaus. Son art évolue clairement, passant d'un travail beaucoup plus clair et moins herméneutique à un travail beaucoup plus inhibé, à mesure qu'elle est influencée par les grands noms du postmodernisme précoce, tels que Wassily Kandinsky.
Elle est revenue de Berlin en 1996 et c'est là qu'elle a vendu cette pièce pour la première fois lors d'une exposition organisée à Kensington, où elle a regroupé son art en trois "années" de sa vie, toutes trois représentatives d'une influence différente ; la dernière étant l'abstraction post-moderne, l'œuvre pour laquelle elle est la plus renommée. Nous avons eu la chance d'acquérir cette œuvre lors d'une vente de succession à Barcelone, en Espagne.

Cette pièce est vendue avec son panneau d'exposition original et est signée à la main "LMH" par Lucy Hunter. Cette pièce est en attente d'approbation pour être placée dans une vente aux enchères d'art abstrait chez Sothebys et pourrait bien rapporter plus que le prix demandé, c'est donc une occasion en or d'acheter cette pièce à un prix fixe.
État de conservation :
Excellent état, cette pièce a été protégée des dommages causés par le soleil, des marques et de la poussière. Chaque partie de l'acrylique reste immaculée et intacte. Cette pièce a appartenu à un collectionneur d'art passionné qui s'est assuré que tous les risques possibles de vieillissement ont été évités sur cette pièce provenant d'une maison sans animaux, sans fumée et tenue par une femme de ménage. Le cadre est dans un état impeccable et présente toutes les pièces découpées, même les plus petites, telles que photographiées.
