The Onion Shape Vase from the Pamono x KPM Archiv Collection was produced in 2018.
Pamono has partnered with venerable Berlin-based ceramics manufactory KPM to create a limited-edition collection drawn from the KPM archives. The Onion Shape Vase was originally created by German sculptor, painter, and designer Trude Petri in 1935, during the many years she designed for KPM. The vase's abstract graphic surface pattern represents Petri's interest in experimenting with deep black pigments alongside more vibrant hues—lilac, sky blue, and goldenrod. A stroke of electric blue around the neck completes the vase. The intensity of the swirling, organic design is achieved by applying and burning off many different layers of paint.
This design has not been produced by KPM since the last century and is available now exclusively through Pamono in an edition of five. Each piece is hand-painted at the KPM manufactory in Berlin.
