The project of this table starts from the desire to revisit the design of an archetype of the late nineteenth century belonging to the type of folding outdoor tables. In the re-design of this piece, Castiglioni focuses attention on detail elements to perfect and enhance the functionality of the product.

Exemplary Redesign operations to re -propose anonymous objects, to whose sedimented form adding adequate details to date: a classic of Achille Castiglioni's action, which often collected these objects with curiosity, those to whom the friend Munari would have given the compass D 'Gold to unknown persons. Like the three -legged table typical of the Parisian bistros, reinterpreted with cumano in its essential lines and in its constructive details, such as the joint designed in a material of its time to facilitate smoothness on the painted structure (without ruining it with use) , and the detail of a hole on the plane that adds to the possibility already foreseen of folding also that of appealing (on the wall, through a special hook).
At the end of the seventies Zanotta undertakes a new research route aimed at identifying and recovering anonymous objects of origin from the past, "already seen", but to be revisited and re -propose in a contemporary key.
