My friend Nathan Browning, of Island Planning Corporation, is always working on some wild project involving rare, exotic, and ancient plants in far-flung, truly extraordinary locales around the world: Vietnam, London, Paris, Montenegro, the Bahamas, Miami, New York, Gabon... the list goes on.

But he's not your average landscape architect. He's more like a combination of James Bond, MacGyver, and Baloo from the Jungle Book. He's a specialist in sourcing and relocating extraordinary trees, especially—often rescuing them from certain demise in the face of boorish development.
