Inner Workings
Spotted this recently and thought it would be great to share with you here on the blog.
The Planche Anatomique de Haut-Parleur paper speaker, by Toulouse-based Coralie Gourguechon, is so clever. As a way of, as the designer puts it, making “the inner working intelligible,” all of the electronic workings and components are arranged on A4-sized paper using conductive ink and glue to present them in a graphic fashion.
While flat, the speaker is off, and it’s only after the circuit is completed with curving and folding of the paper that creates the speaker’s conical shape that it plays music.
I can’t attest for the sound quality of the speaker, but it’s certainly an interesting, and good-looking idea!
